Refrigerator Not Cooling

Often when the refrigerator is not cooling, it is due to dirty condenser coils. Condenser coils do the tough job of removing heat from refrigerant and simultaneously cooling it as it moves through the coils and out to your refrigerator. With time, the coils get dusty, caked with pet hair or obstructed by other dirt and debris. It then becomes difficult for the refrigerator coils to work effectively. Fridge coils are often located under or behind your refrigerator and getting to them can be tricky. But if you can get to them, unplug the fridge and clean the coils. Alternatively, you can give Appliance Guys a call. Appliance Guys has special tools and vacuums for cleaning these coils and the surrounding parts.

Leaking Water

If you find water on the floor near your refrigerator, you could have one of several issues. Something could be blocking your defrost drain line, you could have a leak in your water supply line or you could have a cracked drain pan. Some of these issues you may be able to solve yourself. Check here for self-repair instructions, or give Appliance Guys a call and describe your problem to us.

Ice Maker is not working

The first thing you should do when the ice maker is not making ice, is to check to see it is actually on. If the control lever is in the “on” position and no ice is coming out, try unplugging the fridge and removing the ice from the mold. Plug the fridge back in and wait a few hours. If after that time you still don’t get ice, you may have an issue with the motor or you can have a clog in the supply line. Give Appliance Guys a call to help diagnose the problem and determine if it needs a repair.

Refrigerator runs constantly

If your fridge is not a commercial model, then it should cycle down throughout the day. If your refrigerator runs and runs, it could be a simple matter such as a clogged condenser coil or it could be more complicated like an aging compressor, thermostat or fan that needs a replacement. Give Appliance Guys a call to help diagnose the problem and determine if it needs a repair.
