Top Washing Machine Repair Issues

My Machining Washing Won’t Power On.

Don’t be alarmed just yet. Your machine might not be utterly broken. If your washer does not come on immediately, several things could be the cause.

  1. The power source is the first place to examine. Check to make sure your washer is plugged in. Push the plug into the socket to ensure it isn’t loose.

  2. Next, check the washing machine fuse at your junction box. If there was a power surge during your wash cycle, the fuse could have flipped. Flip the switch to the on position and try to power your washing machine on.

If the plug or power are not the issue, calling an expert technician is a smart choice from a safety perspective. The issue might not even be electrical, it could be something with the lid switch, time knob or motor. Give Appliance Guys a call to help identify the problem and get your washer repair.

My washing machine won’t drain.

The drainage system of your washing machine is faulty if the machine is still filled with water after each washing cycle. Several factors could be responsible for the drainage issue and so it’s best to first determine which is it exactly. Many times a blocked drain hose is the problem. However, the issue could be a drain pump problem, poor positioning of the drain hose, hose kinks or lint filters lodged in the hose. Give Appliance Guys a call and describe your problem to us. We can arrange for an Appliance Guys repair.

My washer go into the spin cycle.

Various things could cause a machine not to spin. It could be something you can easily fix on your own or one for you which you need the services of a professional repairman. First, ensure you are not putting in more clothes than the machine can handle. Try lessening the load to see if that fixes the issue. Then, the issue could stem from the washer’s belts. A dislocated, damaged or raddled belt might impair a washer’s spinning capacity. Contact Appliance Guys to identify the damaged belt and fix it or replace it appropriately.

My Washing Machine is leaking.

If you have a leaky machine, it’s best to engage a professional repairman to handle the issue before it escalates into a more harmful or costly situation. If the machine only leaks when it’s a spin cycle, the drain hose is probably the origin of the problem. Consider examining it for any damage or crack while ensuring it’s well connected to the machine. Check if other connections are intact as well. Then check the fill hoses and water-inlet valve too. Besides, a broken tub seal, tub, drain pump or door seal could be the problem. Best to call in a professional to identify the precise culprit and fix the issue. Give Appliance Guys a call to help diagnose the problem and determine if it needs a repair.

My Washer is making strange noises. Is there a problem?

Normally, your washing machine makes some noise even when in perfect condition. But once you start to hear strange unfamiliar noises, something is probably wrong. The strange sounds differ according to the problem.

  • A gurgle could mean a blocked drain line; inspect thoroughly and remove blockage instantly to avoid flooding.

  • A strange recurring clicking or ticking noise could also be a sign of a clogged drain. Examine the drain, pockets of clothes being washed and the entire machine to discover small objects that might be getting tossed into the washer.

  • A buzzing sound could signify a jammed pump. Examine the pump and remove whatever object is jamming it.

  • A very loud grinding noise (see video) that makes you feel like you are at an airport and not your home is a sign of bad bearings.

To save you a lot of stress, give Appliance Guys a call to examine your machine.

I am so appreciative of the professional work Appliance Guys did on my washing machine. Not only did they fix the problem (which was quite involved), they stayed and tested the machine for a full cycle to ensure it was working properly. Additionally they did the little things at no charge that make a difference: attaching the hose with a zip tie to the faucet to protect against indoor flooding, checking & replacing degraded screens in the pipes to assure better water flow. The intake person was super courteous and helpful, and the repair man arrived very quickly after my call and saved the day. I am a customer for life!
